Ok, well first off he obviously needs to do something about all the missing sky. Secondly the Gaussian blur it killing all the detail. I know it is a tempting thing to do, however you really want every tiny detail to shine in a pic and in this it does not. Also the lighting is way to dark, this needs the gamma pushing way up. If you re-post this in the photography section of the forums I can provide an example of what I mean.

Hope this helps. smile.gif

Cheers for the feedback - as I said, this is my Dads pic, so I'll pass on the info
Also, I had to re-save the file as a JPEG image so as I was able to post it, the image quality loss may be due to the way in which i did this (in MS Paint, saveas JPEG, haahahaa, just for quickness) a better version of the image(still a JPEG, but much larger resolution) may be found here:

Personally, I like the sky / lack of sky in the image, my Dad made a few similar images (of water fountains and some places in Rome taken whilst on holiday) using 7x5 prints from his SLR and just framed them - I feel that the clear defenition of the separeate images adds a kind of nice (worst word ever to use to describe something, but its quite late when I'm posting this) feel of originality to the work (I know its kind of biased though).

I'll re-post in the photo's section, it'd be good to see what kind of effects can be acheived from this photo - and I'm sure Dad will appreciate it too, thanks Jamie

Comment - This is not mine - its taken and edited by my Dad (Tony) who wanted me to upload this, to get some feedback / oppinions. It was taken using his Nikon D200, and put together in Microsfot Image Composite Editor. He then played with the lighting and some of the highlights (gold around clockface etc) in Photoshop.
