Good start if you ask me. Spending more time on models will make them look better in the end. Overdoing detail can make it look bad but then you really have maxed it out lol.

I think it looks very nice. only crit I have is that you might add just a few more subdivisions to the cilinder shaped table top to make it appear more round.

Nice work on the lighting, it looks comfy and relaxing.

cheers for the feedback - I was sure that when I made the table and rendered it (ie just with standard textures, no actual texture applied) the table looked MUCH smoother than that confused.gif (maybe when I was messing about with the mapping I turned off the turbo smooth and forgot to turn it back on)

Comment - I have been working up towards a module that I will be studying at university next term which will be to model "something" - prob a spaceship - based on blueprints and images. This is my attempt to prepare by modelling simple Ikea furniture such as this table. Its still tagged as "work in progress" because I would like to spend more time playing with the lighting and textures, but for the moment I'm happy with the overall product, as its not until the 2nd term that we have to texture stuff. As ever, any comments will be greatly appreciated :D Dan
