I think the pen is very realistic, but the table doesn't look quite right. Do you have vray?

I agree with jamie, the bump mapping is very obvious. You using 2 target spots to light it?

Yeah, since you point it out the surface does look a bit cheap. It's supposed to look like semi-gloss paint applied with a roller.
Any suggestions on how to make it better? Do I just need to loose the bump?

It is lit with three omni's with attenuation and decay. I have VRay but I'm more comfortable with MR.
