Your modelling is great I cant fault it.

The basin material is good, you've got a nice amount of reflectivity there. The brass though looks a little plasticy, I know this is the part you said you struggled with. What kind of material are you using?

Well, I'm still VERY new to this whole 3ds / general 3d modelling thing, so I'm using the following (not really sure if its the best thing to do, but as of all the things I've used so far it seems to kind of give the best result)

Its the following spec (see picture) plus the following:

* Falloff fresnel reflection (set to 100)
* Composite Bump using speckle and noise (set to 3 - the map next to it has a lower bump setting, as with the rough texture on the faucet it looks very odd)

Also, as the picture shows, I had a LOT of issues getting the right colour using a single colour (as opposed to multiple) as it kept ending up gold / orange as opposed to the slightly green/yellow brassy colour (which I'm happy with)
It would be nice to get a spun metal kind of look on the taps though...

Thanks for the feedback grin.gif

It does look a bit plasticy, but the ceramics look good and the lighting is good as well.

Ps, it's a Legnum not an Evo smile.gif

It's not that difficult, the symmetry modifier is your friend.

no, its the texturing I'm on about, the modelling takes AGES, but its do-able...texturing I could have easily spent another several hours on this, trying to get the taps to look nicer, and I prob will confused.gif

Comment - This is my current entry for the photo-realism competition (NB - its the same scene, rendered from the same camera view, except this jpg (like the one actually entered in the comp) is saved through max, however, this image has the "smoothing" set to lowest, thus looks sharper than the entered image. By posting it in my gallery, I also can view / hear feedback about the image. its been a long road, but I've been following several tutorials about how to make the various models in this scene (the taps were the most fun - lots of bridging and extruding of poly's) texturing was by far the hardest part of this scene though - a new respect for you guys who make cars and their parts (mainly the wheels of the Evo by Steve M)
