Oh wow this is really taking your digital work to a new level isnt it, it just looks like so much more work than normal... im not sure that it is, it just looks like it is

I was thinking about how little sense the picture makes...But really you dont need to hear my ramblings a picture doesnt have to make sense anyway

I like your lighting and the hair and makeup is awsome (shells read me the thing of facebook about having to wash the blue stuff off in the sink, classic LOL) I like the colours you have used, it really helps bring the picture together. I also like the shoes, they look awsome!!

I have to say your composition is screwed a little though, it sits awkwardly....but that may just be me. I also have a pet hate for added in lense flare, but again is just me

Anyway good job I like it, and you should be proud

edit: what is the binary meant to say in the title, because just looking at it, doesnt say anything... you just randmly put 1 and 0 in didnt you I could be wrong though

Yeah it was massive lots of work more than usual. I thought the cows were a big enough challenge, but this one was both really hard to get the makeup right, then to shoot in the studio, and even harder to make it happen on screen. Im not sure if i spent the most hours on this one, but I definately had to push myself into refining my skills at liquefying, cloning and digital painting.

I agree, there's still heaps wrong with the image. Damn about the composition. I was hoping that the city would balance her out heaps more, because originally she was only on a blue backdrop. I'm finding more and more I really need to work on those composition skills. One day Ill get there. thanks for the tip.

Yeah I was going for that little sense sort of deal. I have been madly into Mass Effect, Star Trek (only seen the so far movies) and Hitchhikers Guide lately and I just adore the really camp almost silly sci fi vibe. I took that as far as I could. Thats where the lens flaire came from, there was one in the original photograph I took on the day, and it was the first thing I removed from the shot. Later while watching the new star trek special features dvd I got absolutely facinated with their obsession with lens flares and so I went back to the original image I photographed and decided that I really stuffed it up by taking it out. In my mind it added that "someones on the other side of the camera" vibe... and sort of removed the viewer away from looking at it as if they were there with the alien, but more like a movie set.

the binary... it was entirely possible that at four in the morning when I decided that she should be called "Alien" in binary... that I just wasnt paying attention to what i was typing and stuffed it up. Oh well. Ill leave it how it is for now.

Oh and im REALLLY glad you like the shoes. that was the hardest part to the whole thing. really hard. Jamie and I had a massive discussion about the original shoes she was wearing, neither of us could come to any solution to how it should look. The black stood out so much against the blue skin. Eventually Jamie did a bit of a sketch over what I had done at that point and we decided that almost hoof looking things would work the best. When i have a moment I'll post some of the work in progress sort of things and you will see how many times those shoes had to change. It was horrible!

Yeah I can see how much work the shoes would take alone to do, that + if you look at the fact the world is sand, it would mae sense that the shoes would kinda look like that anyway (sort of mimicing a camels hoof), im sure that wasnt what you where thinking when designing it, but that is what I thought when i saw them

Yeah composition is a horrid thing, it is really hard to get right and god knows I battle with it all the time... Im really good at picking up on when its wrong, but it is hard to know when you have it right. So if you think it is ok, then dont worry about me, it can be a real personal thing!

The way I looked at the image was that the picture is like alien playboy, then it would explain all those logic problems would also fit right into the awsome campy sci-fi thing

You know, the lense flare ISNT bad in this image and I can kinda see why you put it in, but like all these sorts of things, see it so over used it turns into a pet hate lol.

Oh you dont know about dune.....

The books can be hard to read as it is alot about politics etc (and I know books arnt your strong point) but you can watch the david lynch movie and you should be good
ok saying that it can be a bit hard, the moive is a bit all over the place, could try the mini series...hmmm I think it is bit like war of the worlds, they can never do the books justice.

Also Dune 2 the video game was one of the first RTS's to use resource managment.

Dune is a nerd must have
